Utilizing Built-in Chat Functionality in Appmint
Introduction to Appmint Chat
Appmint’s built-in chat functionality is designed to streamline communication and collaboration within the platform, offering a seamless experience similar to WhatsApp chats. This feature allows you to communicate with team members, clients, and contacts, share project updates, and discuss creative ideas without leaving the Appmint environment.

1. Accessing the Chat Feature
To start using the chat feature, follow these steps:
Login to Appmint: After logging into your Appmint account, you will be directed to the main dashboard.
Open the Chat Interface:
a. Navigate to the CRM dropdown list on the left sidebar.
b. Locate the chat icon and click on it to open the chat interface. This will display your recent chats and contacts.

The chat interface has the following clickable tabs at the top of the chat modal, each with its own function:
- a. User's email ID (e.g. admin@localhost.com)
- b. Chat tab
- c. Active session
- d. Map
- e. Chat config
- f. Save
- g. New
3. The Chat Tab
Within the chat tab, you will find the following on the left sidebar of the modal:
a. Chat Icon: Access your ongoing conversations and create a new chat.
b. Contact Icon: View your contacts.
c. Profile Icon: Access your profile information.
d. Search Box: Find any user by typing their name or email.
e. New Chat Button: For creating a new chat.
When any user is selected, the chat interface opens to display the conversation.
4. Starting a New Chat
To start a new conversation:
- By the left side bar:
- Click on the New Chat Button
2. Input a valid email.
3. Click the Start Chat Button.
When the Chat Interface Opens:
- Type a message in the message text area.
- You can attach a file and include emojis by clicking the corresponding icons.
- Click the send button to send your message.
At the top of the chat area, you can also:
- Add a User to the Chat: Click the add user icon to include additional participants.
- Transfer Chat: Click the transfer chat icon to transfer the conversation to another user.
- Start a Call: Click the call icon to initiate a voice or video call.
5. The Chat Interface (Detailed)
In addition to the chat tab, the following tabs offer additional functionality:
- a. Active Session: View and manage your current chat sessions.
- b. Map: Share your location or view the location of other participants.
- c. Chat Config: Customize your chat settings and preferences.
- d. Save: Save important messages or conversations for future reference.
- e. New: Start a new chat or create a new group conversation.
