Creating a Custom Event Type

Let's walk you through the process of creating a custom event type in Appmint CRM. Custom event types allow you to tailor the event fields to meet your specific needs or business needs.

Getting Started

Before creating a custom event type, ensure you have signed up and logged in to your Appmint account. If you haven't, follow these steps:

Creating a Custom Event Type

  1. Navigate to the Menu:

    • Go to the canvas sidebar and click on the "Database" menu.
    • Select "Base Collection" from the dropdown.
    • Scroll through the list of base collections and locate the "Event" menu. image

  2. Editing the Event Fields:

  • Click on "Event". A modal will open, asking you to select the template database you want to edit.
  • Click the plus icon to add new event type image
    • Choose "Event" from the template dropdown menu in the modal.
    • Once selected, you will be taken to the event editing interface.
    • Use the form builder elements on the right sidebar to add or modify fields according to your needs.
      • Adding Fields: Drag and drop elements like text fields, dropdowns, checkboxes, etc., from the sidebar to the form builder area.
      • Modifying Fields: Click on existing fields to edit their properties, such as labels, placeholders, and validation rules. image
  1. Customize the Event Fields:
    • Set the names and properties for each custom field you add.
    • Arrange the fields in the desired order.
    • Customize field settings to capture the required information for your specific event type.
    • Click on the "Save" icon located at the top-right corner of the interface.
    • A modal will appear, asking if you want to duplicate the default event structure or save it as a new custom collection.
      • Select "Yes" to save the changes. This will duplicate the default event structure and save your customizations as a new collection.
      • If you choose "No", the changes will not be saved, and the default event structure will remain unchanged. Closing the page or navigating away will discard any unsaved changes.

4 Accessing and Editing Custom Event Types:

  • Your custom event type will now appear under the "Custom Collection" menu in the database section.
  • You can go back to this menu anytime to edit or delete the custom event type as needed.
